These principles have been derived with strong input from my command staff
and front line supervisors. They represent our foundation and my beliefs in
how we should interact with the community and fellow employees.
These beliefs have been tested and I am pleased that they have passed those
tests with flying colors.

Statement
The Montezuma County
Sheriff's Office, in partnership with the community, is dedicated to
providing excellent public safety services while preventing crime and
injustice.
Sheriff's Philosophy
The Golden Rule: Treat all others the way you would want to be treated
if roles were reversed.
Integrity: Possess a high level of integrity for all encounters on and
off duty
Accountability: All staff must be accountable and truthful to the
community, the organization and to one another
Community: All staff will work individually and together with the
community to foster and encourage a high level of cooperation between the agency
and all citizens.
